In 2004, just before the Federal Election in Australia, a group of independent filmmakers made a compilation documentary called 'Time to go, John' to protest the policies of Prime Minister John Howard, especially in the treatment of refugees. 'Dog' is part of that project but was not completed in time to be included on the video.
